Hello and welcome! I’m Amy Tieman, a self-taught mixed-media artist with a lifelong love for drawing and creating.
My creative journey began in childhood, where I spent countless hours happily immersed in my own little world of color and imagination. As life unfolded, my time for art naturally gave way to the joys and busyness of family. I married the love of my life in 2000, and by 2007, we were the proud parents of three little ones. Though we had dreamed of a fourth, we eventually made peace with a different plan—until life surprised us in the most beautiful way. On January 1, 2012, we found out that we were expecting our fourth child, a joyful reminder that the unexpected can be extraordinary!
For many years, my focus was wholeheartedly on motherhood. But in 2020, in the midst of a global pandemic and the grief of losing my mom the year before, I felt drawn back to art. Painting became my sanctuary, a daily practice that helped me process my emotions and find moments of peace and calm in the midst of great loss. Art became my lifeline—a source of healing, hope, and daily joy.
In December of 2024, I faced another life-changing season when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Creating art during and after treatment became even more profound. Each painting became a gentle promise to myself that healing and beauty can coexist, even during our hardest days.
Thank you for being here. I hope my art speaks to your soul, just as creating it has helped to heal and nourish mine. ❤️
